Hi all. There is an excellent series of Blogs concerning Dr. Pacik’s book, When Sex Seems Impossible: Stories of Vaginismus and How You Can Achieve Intimacy.

    Vaginismus Book Introduction

Wedding Bell Blues and Other Fearful Firsts

    What is Vaginismus?

I encourage you to read the Blogs and to order and read the book and I welcome your comments and feedback here. Personally, one of the best parts of the book for my husband and I was reading the real-life accounts and stories of other couples who had vaginismus. Up until this point, we both felt like it was our problem alone and I especially felt very abnormal as I could not do something that I felt was supposed to come so naturally. It just wouldn’t and couldn’t happen. After reading the book, we both also felt hope for the first time that we could overcome this condition and it was extremely empowering. Unlike other books that are all clinical, this book was heartfelt with true stories regarding vaginismus and it also discussed the condition and treatment in a non-clinical but engaging way. What were your own thoughts/feelings after reading?

For anyone new to the Forum, I encourage you to read Dr. Pacik’s book, When Sex Seems Impossible: Stories of Vaginismus and How You Can Achieve Intimacy. For my husband and I, when we first read the book, we both cried as it was the first time we felt like someone understood the problems we were experiencing and we felt so much hope that there was a treatment and cure out there. If you have already read the book, what were your thoughts and feelings?
